Jose Castillo
Jose Castillo, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, businessman, craftsman, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, in Hemet, California at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Nancy Castillo.
Jose lived a life defined by hard work, determination, creativity, and generosity. He was a proud retired union member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, where he helped build storm drains and bridges for city and state governments throughout California. His work contributed to the infrastructure and communities that countless families rely upon today. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Beyond his union career, Jose possessed a remarkable entrepreneurial spirit. Over the years, he owned and operated a Mexican restaurant in Tustin, Ca., operated a mobile catering business, and built a successful landscaping company in Riverside County. He was known for his strong work ethic, vision, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Jose also had a deep love for craftsmanship and creativity. In his spare time, he enjoyed building handmade furniture, creating pieces that reflected both his skill and patience. Those who knew him will remember his dedication to family, his independent spirit, and his willingness to help others.
He is survived by his son, Troy Castillo of Palm Springs, Ca and is daughter, Carla Chism of Toutle, WA.

He will deeply be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
